HOW DO I FIND YOU?

Amersham is a historic market town with over 150 buildings protected from developers, some in an untouched ‘old town’ that’s frequently used as a film location. Popular TV show Midsomer Murders is set here and hit movie Four Weddings & A Funeral featured the town’s Crown Hotel.

We are based nearer the underground/railway station. The studio is in an industrial complex, with an entrance at the rear of the building, so you can approach through a residential area for senior citizens.

We are located down a path and behind a gate leading from the top left of the main car park. There are signs in the car park – call Simon on 07825 621916 if you have any issues finding us.

WHAT IS YOU ADDRESS FOR MY SAT NAV?

For your sat nav system we are at the rear of 15, The Penningtons in Amersham, HP6 6EJ. This is not what Google and Google Maps say. It’s also not our postal address. Honestly, we are nothing to do with MI5.

IS THERE SAFE PARKING?

There is a sizable car park, but most of the spaces are allocated to disabled residents. If you could park with consideration and utilise roadside parking on Chestnut Lane or any spaces on the entry road, we’d really appreciate it.

HOW DO I GET THERE FROM LONDON?

Amersham train/underground station is 40 mins from Marylebone or an hour or so by tube on the Metropolitan line. (Avoid those with ‘All Stations’ on the front and side unless you have the time for a journey more than an hour long).

WHAT'S THE NEAREST AIRPORT?

We frequently have students flying in for day courses. The nearest airports are Heathrow (30 mins) and Luton (40 mins). Luton has a number of budget airlines operating from it. Simon is very happy to assist with transport and accommodation arrangements, so get in touch.

WHAT'S THE NEAREST STATION?

Amersham Station is a 15 minute walk. We’d be delighted to pick you up if you let us know in advance – let Simon know the night before of your approximate arrival time by text on 07825 621916.

HOW DO I GET FROM THE EUROSTAR?

– Some customers come via the Eurostar. It should take 1 hour from St Pancras station – use the Metropolitan line on the underground, and leave the train at Amersham.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING FOR AN IN PERSON WORKSHOP?

If it’s a shoot based one, then a camera with a memory card, note pad and pen.

Workshops were you are editing require you to bring a laptop with Photoshop (and ideally Lightroom) installed (FREE latest trial versions here), power cable, mouse and Wacom if you use one. Unless stated, any version of Photoshop 5 onward will be fine.

Let us know if you don’t own a laptop and we will do our best to help you out. We do have a couple of laptops for emergencies, these are allocated on a first come first served basis.

CAN I PAY BY INSTALLMENTS or OTHER METHODS?

If you wish to pay by installments, simply email us at info@AmershamStudios.com and let us know what payments would suit you, please be aware that ALL workshops must be paid for in full before attendance.

If you wish to pay by cash or bank transfer, no problems either! Simple email us and tell us how we can help you?

DO YOU HAVE WHEEL CHAIR ACCESS TO THE STUDIO?

Our studio is at the top of a wide flight of stairs and is not suitable for wheelchairs. We do have several disabled customers and will be delighted to help you in any way we can.

CAN I BOOK RPS WORKSHOPS DIRECTLY?

Currently all Royal Photographic Society course booking do need to be made direct with the RPS by following the link in our course description.

ARE THERE ANY WORK EXPERIENCE OPPORTUNITIES?

Yes, we do offer work experience to students, etc. as we firmly believe in giving people every opportunity. Please contact us at info@AmershamStudios.com to discuss.
