30th Sep – RAW IMAGINATION: PHOTOSHOP CLASS with TIM WALLACE
Learn Tim Wallace’s Photo Shop secrets and workflow which he’s perfected over a number of years and has gained him a fierce reputation as a sucessfull commecrial phtographer
Is this for me?
This course is for any photographer wanting learn the Photoshop and workflow secrets of a highly successful commercial photographer.
Why will this make me a better photographer?
In this workshop Tim will be working through different PS based controls that he uses in his own personal retouching.
Key Learning points:
We will be looking at tone, its importance, as well as contrast, and colour.
The importance of having a final image and style in mind and how we approach that as well as how Tim use’s PS in his own personal way as digital darkroom drawing on his knowledge and past experience as a film and photographic printer.
How do we build and create a commercial image, what is important to remember, what tools are there that can help us with our work and how do we make sense of things so that we can take consistent steps forward.
We will look at clipping paths, their importance as well as blending effectively and the importance of understanding colour and contrast. What we do in PS starts when we are stood behind the camera before we even make a capture so understanding where we intend to take this in the processing stage means that we can shoot more efficiently and with better results.
Tim’s work has been published all over the World and he has been refereed to as one of most creative photographers within his specialised field of commercial automotive photography. In the US Scott Kelby described Tim recently as one of the 10 most influential photographers in the World today and also a man who greatly inspires others, not only within his own industry but beyond. Tim’s view of all this is a little more straight forward, a man who’s very well known for his down to earth attitude, his feet are very firmly on the ground. His desire to produce creative work is one that has driven him from a very young age at the point he first picked up a camera, “Photography is for me simply a creative passion, the ability to use light and form to capture in a single solitary image what I see within my own imagination at that point in time…”
Tim will be using some of his own published image sets as demonstrations of how these images were built up and created, as well as looking at those composite elements and how to start to approach the differing skills needed to create a good composite as well as the pit falls and the area’s to be aware and careful of when creating these. The class will look at working in different parts of these images and how that can be achieved, working with layers and colour balance, making tonal changes and how these can lift an image without causing it damage.
